Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Vehicle Information Android application ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles information when you use it. By installing or using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Search inputs you provide — vehicle registration numbers, driving licence numbers and similar identifiers you type to look up details. These are sent to public Parivahan / VAHAN sources to fetch results.
• Device information — device model, OS version, language, app version and a non-personal advertising ID. Used to keep the app stable and improve performance.
• Crash & usage diagnostics — anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage events (for example, "feature X opened") to fix bugs and improve features.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, SMS, call logs or precise location.

2. How we use the information

• To return the vehicle / RC / challan / DL details you requested.
• To keep the App running smoothly, fix crashes and improve features.
• To show ads and measure their performance (see "Third-party services" below).

3. Sources of vehicle data

Vehicle, owner, challan, RTO, insurance and licence details shown in the App are gathered from publicly available Government of India sources, primarily the Parivahan Sewa and VAHAN portals. We do not own this data and we do not modify it. Accuracy is subject to upstream availability and timeliness.

4. Third-party services

The App may use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

• Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Firebase / Crashlytics — for analytics and crash reporting.
• Google Play Services — for app distribution and updates.

These services may receive limited device information and a non-personal advertising identifier as described in their own policies.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your search inputs with advertisers. The only sharing that occurs is with the public Parivahan / VAHAN endpoints (to fetch results) and the analytics / ads services listed above.

6. Data retention

Search inputs are processed in transit and are not stored on our servers. Anonymous diagnostic data is retained by the relevant Google service in accordance with its standard retention policy.

7. Children's privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices

• You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your Android device settings.
• You can uninstall the App at any time to stop all data collection.
• You can contact us to request deletion of any diagnostic data linked to your device.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS) and to limit access to diagnostic data. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
